Le social media optimization (ou SMO) est un ensemble de méthodes pour attirer les internautes sur des contenus de site web grâce à la promotion de ceux-ci via les médias sociaux.
On remarque que c’est une pratique en plein essor car les internautes et les entreprises y sont de plus en plus présents. La question est de savoir comment Google considère les liens provenant des réseaux sociaux comme Facebook et Twitter.
Encore une fois Matt Cutts répond à cette question en vidéo. Il nous explique que les liens issus de sites communautaires comme Facebook et Twitter sont considérés de la même façon que les liens issus de n’importe quel site.
C’est à dire qu’ils peuvent transférer du PageRank (s’ils n’utilisent pas l’attribut nofollow) et qu’ils peuvent donc apporter de la popularité à votre site web. Voilà une bonne nouvelle pour l’optimisation basée sur les réseaux sociaux.
Toutefois Matt Catts souligne que beaucoup de profils sont privés dans Facebook, et que par conséquent le robot ne peut suivre les liens ; de plus, Twitter utilise l’attribut nofollow. Matt Cutts recommande donc de créer une page publique, pour que Google puisse la consultere et de ne pas bloquer les liens pour que votre netlinking en bénéficie.
Maintenant que vous savez ça, il est grand temps d’optimiser votre netlinking grâce aux réseaux sociaux.
